"EYE TO EYE"
Lesson 5
When we were children, we did not always see "eye to eye" with our parents. As we grew up, we didn’t always see "eye to eye" with our teachers, employer or the government and its laws for man.
Then one day GOD called us into His kingdom (His church) giving us the "covering" of His love through His word. At first, we didn’t see EYE TO EYE WITH GOD. We found ourselves and our lives in a mess. Some things, we had to learn the hard way.
"I applied mine HEART to KNOW, and to SEARCH, and to SEEK, WISDOM: and the reason of things, to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness and madness" (Ecclesiastes 7:25).
We live in a world that doesn’t want anyone telling them what to do. "It is not in man that walketh to direct his own footsteps" (Jeremiah 10:23). We need HELP. We need to see "EYE TO EYE" with GOD on this matter. As "CHRISTIANS", even with GOD’S HELP we will make a lot of mistakes when our "flesh" leads. It is no wonder that the people in the world make horrible mistakes without GOD leading them in their lives. Our eyes need to see that others need GOD in their lives too. JESUS SAID:
"My meat is to do the will of HIM that sent me, and to FINISH HIS WORK..Lift up your eyes, and Look on the fields: for they are WHITE ALREADY TO HARVEST AND HE THAT REAPETH RECEIVETH WAGES, and gathereth fruit UNTO LIFE ETERNAL: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together" (John 4:34-36).
If our system of Government could see sin as GOD does, crime would lessen and criminals would know that CRIME DOES NOT PAY.
"Because sentence against an evil work is NOT EXECUTED SPEEDILY, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil" (Ecclesiastes 8:1).
JESUS SPOKE of "CLOSED EYES", and "CLOSED EARS", that would not see or hear GOD’S WORD or HIS CORRECTIONS. Parents fail in correcting their children, and accepting correction themselves from GOD’S WORDS.
"For the Heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their EYES HAVE THEY CLOSED; LEST THEY SHOULD SEE WITH THEIR EYES, AND HEAR WITH THEIR HEART and should be CONVERTED, and I should heal them" (Acts 28:27).
If we are LISTENING TO GOD by reading His Word and taking HIS instructions in life, we won’t be listening to SATAN’S LIES and our own way of thinking…GOD KNOWS US for He made us.
"There is a way that SEEMETH RIGHT UNTO A MAN, but the end thereof are ways of death" (Proverbs 16:25).
Nothing we acquire in this life without GOD’S APPROVAL will be worth anything.
"Better is a little with RIGHTEOUSNESS than great revenues without right".
"A man’s HEART deviseth his way: but the LORD DIRECTETH HIS STEPS" (Proverbs 16:8-9).
All of us have seen tragedy strike, and suddenly…a "young life" is snuffed out in an accident. We need to see EYE TO EYE on this matter with GOD. SOMEDAY, our chance to get to know GOD, and become a CHILD OF GOD (CHRISTIAN), will end.
"THE LORD IS NOT SLACK CONCERNING HIS PROMISE AS SOME MEN COUNT SLACKNESS; BUT IS LONGSUFFERING TO US-WARD NOT WILLING ANY SHOULD PERISH BUT THAT ALL SHOULD COME TO REPENTANCE" (2 Peter 3:9-10).
NOAH was a PREACHER OF RIGHTEOUSNESS (2 Peter 2:5). GOD gave man 120 years to repent (Genesis 6:3). NOAH’S FAMILY were the 7 people who listened, so only 8 people were saved.
JUDGEMENT WILL COME.
"In a moment, in the TWINKLING OF AN EYE, AT THE LAST TRUMP; FOR THE TRUMPET SHALL SOUND, AND THE DEAD SHALL BE RAISED INCORRUPTIBLE, AND WE SHALL BE CHANGED" (1 Corinthians 15:52).
