"MIND TO MIND"
Lesson 3
Once we answered the CALL OF GOD when...we obeyed the GOSPEL, the "LORD ADDED US TO HIS CHURCH" (ACTS 2:47) and we wear the name "CHRISTIAN" (ACTS 11:26). It is then that the BATTLE RAGES WITHIN US for we have "changed sides" and SATAN will try to win us away from GOD and what He called us to do.
"GOD IS FAITHFUL, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of His son JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD" (1 Corinthians 1:9).
GRACE be to you and PEACE from GOD THE FATHER AND FROM OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST (Galatians 1:3).
"Who gave HIMSELF …for our sins, that He might DELIVER US from this PRESENT EVIL WORLD" (Galatians 1:4).
We made a decision, to LOVE A GOD who first loved us enough to send His only begotten son to DIE ON THE CROSS for our SINS (John 3:16).
"Now the GOD OF PATIENCE and CONSOLATION grant you to be likeminded, one toward another ACCORDING To CHRIST JESUS"
"That ye may with ONE MIND, and ONE MOUTH glorify God, even the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST" (Romans 15:5-6).
We made the decision to follow CHRIST, and something wonderful happened. WE MADE GOD SING. When GOD’S PEOPLE repent and return to Him, He forgives them.
"The LORD THY GOD in the midst of thee is MIGHTY; He will save, He will REJOICE over thee…with JOY; He will rest in His love, He will JOY OVER THEE with SINGING" (Zephaniah 3:17).
When I first became a "NEW CHRISTIAN" I did not know very much about the BIBLE and I thought I would have to give up things...that I thought were fun; but once I began to study the BIBLE (I can’t stress that too much...STUDY FOR YOURSELF) - I began to trust God, that the…ABUNDANT LIFE JESUS came to bring was by allowing…the FATHER TO GUIDE ME.
JESUS SAID: "The thief (SATAN) cometh, not but for to STEAL, to KILL, and to destroy…I AM COME THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE LIFE, and that they might have it more abundantly" (John 10:10).
If you have children you know that everything you try to teach them is for…their own good. But they haven’t learned…to trust you as a parent just yet. A baby’s mother decides the kind of milk it drinks and the food they eat. A baby’s room…is free of all harmful items…We should TRUST GOD to show us what is good and right for us to do. We trusted JESUS AS OUR SAVIOR, so we must let GOD give us direction and put in OUR MINDS what is in HIS MIND for that is where an abundant life is found.
Once your MIND accepts that fact, you can expect spiritual growth, and when God begins to use you in exciting places to…serve Him you will truly say "My Cup Runneth Over". Kids today try drugs and alcohol and sinful pleasures to try…to get high…something is lacking in their lives. That something is their creator, ALMIGHTY GOD. We have to help them "SEE WHAT WE SAW that brought us to CHRIST…leave our example of a righteous life (Hebrews 5:12) "For when for the time ye OUGHT TO BE TEACHERS" (Hebrews 5:12).
"BEING BORN AGAIN, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible…by the WORD OF GOD, which liveth and abideth forever" (1 Peter 2:23).
"Whereby laying aside all malice, and all guile and hypocrisies and envies, and all EVIL SPEAKINGS"
"As NEWBORN BABES, desire the sincere MILK OF THE WORD…that ye may GROW THEREBY" (1 Peter 2:1-2).
"If so be ye have tasted that the LORD IS GRACIOUS" (1 Peter 2:3).
