"SOUL TO SOUL"
Lesson 2
The Bible refers to "NEW CHRISTIANS" as ‘BABES IN CHRIST’. We have not put our sinful nature or Carnal behavior away forever. By FAITH we have placed ourselves under God’s control. The HOLY SPIRIT, dwells in the CHRISTIAN and was put within us to GUIDE and to instruct us in the ways of GOD. The "SWORD" of the SPIRIT is the WORD OF GOD (Eph. 6:17) so watch and pray with all perseverance (verse 6:18).
"And I BRETHREN could not speak unto you as unto SPIRITUAL but as unto CARNAL, even as unto BABES IN CHRIST" (1 Cor. 3:1).
" I have fed you with milk not with meat for hitherto ye were not able to bear it" (3:2).
"For ye are yet CARNAL, whereas there is among you ENVYING, AND STRIFE AND DIVISIONS, are ye not CARNAL and WALK as men" (3:3).
When we heard the WORD OF GOD and were convicted of our sinfulness, and responded in FAITH (Heb 11:1-6) and were Baptized into CHRIST (ACTS 2:38 & Gal. 3:27), confessing our FAITH, REPENTING of our sins (ACTS 2:38) the Lord saved us, adding us to his CHURCH (ACTS 2:47 & Gal. 3:27). We are not free of acting CARNAL from time to time, as we learn to walk with God.
GOD places his HOLY SPIRIT WITHIN US, and begins HIS work of REGENERATION. He has declared us RIGHTEOUS through the BLOOD OF CHRIST while…we are learning to live in GOD’S WORD enrolling our names in the BOOK OF LIFE, (Phil 4:3 & Rev. 22:19) plus we know now that GOD SAVED THEM (1 John 5:13, Romans 8:1-4) and He saved us when we obeyed Him.
"Being CONFIDENT, OF THIS VERY THING, THAT He which hath…begun a GOOD WORK IN YOU WILL PERFORM IT until the DAY OF JESUS CHRIST" (Philippians 1:6).
DAILY we will see GOD enabling us to be the wonderful child He wants us to BE, with our mind changing from "I WILL" unto, "HIS WILL".
"FOR WE OURSELVES also were sometimes foolish, serving divers lust and pleasures…living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another".
"But after that…the KINDNESS, and LOVE OF GOD our Saviour toward MAN APPEARED"
"Not by WORKS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS WHICH WE HAVE DONE…according to HIS MERCY HE SAVED us by the WASHING OF REGENERATION and renewing of the HOLY GHOST" (Titus 3:3-5)
Christians have the HOLY SPIRIT within to help us to be all we could not be alone and apart from GOD and His WORD TO HELP cut out the bad things and replace them with good. THEREFORE:
"O GOD, THOU ART MY GOD early will I seek thee: MY SOUL THIRSTETH FOR THEE…IN A DRY AND THIRSTY LAND, WHERE…no water is (Psalms 63:1)
"THE RIGHTEOUS are as BOLD as a lion" (PROVERBS 28:1).
Our SOULS must be in agreement with…the way GOD wants our souls…most of us have been thirsty and dry from being out of water after laboring, and when that first drop of cool water passed over our lips we felt instantly refreshed…like we could go another mile, being instantly renewed.
IN OUR CHRISTIAN LIFE IT WILL BE THAT WAY for when we answered the CALL OF GOD giving our life to Him, we entered the battlefield where we meet the enemy of GOD--SATAN who will try and stop us from, reaching our goals and growing in the Lord. WE WILL have to return again and again, to our God, and be refreshed by His PRESENCE…HIS HELP HIS LOVE which he gives bountifully. GOD GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON…TO EXPRESS His love to us (John 3:16), and the guidance of HIS WORD.
"FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM, SHOULD NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE: (John 3:16).
ASK FOR HIS HELP AND DON’T START WITHOUT HIM. "The steps of a GOOD MAN are ordered by the LORD: and He delighteth…IN HIS WAY" (Psalms 37:23).
