"GLORY TO GLORY"
Lesson 10
GLORY means worship or praise, great honor--admiration. It means the very presence of GOD in all HIS PURITY and HOLINESS and PERFECTION. "THOU ART OF PURER EYES than to behold EVIL and CANST NOT LOOK ON INIQUITY" (Hab. 1:13).
"Everyone that is called by My name: I have created him for MY GLORY, I have formed him, yea, I have made him" (Isaiah 43:7)
Our HEAVENLY FATHER was there at our birth into this world, and He created us to be a reflection of His GLORY to the…world. What an AWESOME RESPONSIBILITY.
"THE HEAVENS DECLARE THE GLORY OF GOD: AND THE FIRMAMENT SHEWETH HIS HANDYWORK" (Psalms 19:1)
"BUT THOU ART HE THAT TOOK ME OUT OF THE WOMB: THOU DIDST MAKE ME HOPE WHEN I WAS UPON MY MOTHER’S BREASTS"
"I WAS CAST UPON THEE FROM THE WOMB: THOU ART MY GOD FROM MY MOTHER’S BELLY" (Psa. 22:9-10) (IDENTITY EVEN IN THE WOMB, huh?)
God meant for His children to live gloriously…lives that would bring GLORY TO HIM, as our FATHER GOD. It was said of Jeremiah the Prophet,
"BEFORE I FORMED THEE IN THE BELLY I KNEW THEE; AND, BEFORE THOU CAMEST FORTH OUT OF THE WOMB, I SANCTIFIED THEE AND ORDAINED THEE A PROPHET UNTO THE NATIONS" (Jeremiah 1:5). (identity in the womb)
God had great plans…I wonder what those babies that…never made it out of their mother’s womb missed?
SATAN was not happy with the Glory he had in God’s presence:
"AND THE GREAT DRAGON WAS CAST OUT, THAT OLD SERPENT, CALLED THE DEVIL, WHICH DECEIVETH THE WHOLE WORLD: HE WAS CAST OUT INTO THE EARTH, AND HIS ANGELS WERE CAST OUT WITH HIM" (Revelations 12:9).
SATAN has deceived many young and old people today who are taking drugs and living a life in sin, searching for something fulfilling in their lives; (John 10:10, can be found in JESUS CHRIST. It is when we obey our CREATOR, GOD, living as He intended that we live that we have the GLORIOUS FEELING they are…seeking. IT COST GOD HIS SON TO OBTAIN IT.
"THE GOD OF THIS WORLD (SATAN) HATH BLINDED THE MINDS OF THEM WHICH BELIEVE NOT, LEST THE…LIGHT OF THE GLORIOUS GOSPEL OF CHRIST, WHO IS THE IMAGE OF GOD, SHOULD SHINE UNTO THEM" (2 Cor. 4:4)
"FOR GOD, WHO COMMANDED THE LIGHT TO SHINE OUT OF DARKNESS, HATH…SHINED IN OUR HEARTS, TO GIVE THE LIGHT OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE…GLORY OF GOD IN THE FACE OF JESUS CHRIST" (2 Corinthians 4:6).
"I HAVE GLORIFIED THEE ON THE EARTH…I HAVE FINISHED THE WORK WHICH THOU GAVEST ME TO DO"
"AND NOW, O FATHER, GLORIFY THOU ME WITH THINE OWN SELF WITH THE GLORY WHICH I HAD WITH…THEE BEFORE THE WORLD WAS" (John 17:4-5).
THE BIBLE says "WE ARE LABOURERS TOGETHER WITH GOD" (1 Corinthians 3:9). CHRIST FINISHED HIS WORK, He told his Disciples "the harvest was plentiful, but the laborers…were few" (Matthew 9:37). It’s a glorious feeling doing the Lord’s Work.
"PRAY YE, THEREFORE THE LORD OF THE HARVEST, that He will send forth laborers into HIS HARVEST" (Matthew 9:38).
"BUT WE ALL, WITH OPEN FACE BEHOLDING AS IN A GLASS THE GLORY OF THE LORD, ARE CHANGED INTO THE SAME IMAGE FROM GLORY TO GLORY EVEN AS BY THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
